Rockdale High School tennis teams played in Franklin this past week, where they faced competitors from Cameron, Little River-Academy, Rogers, Bremond, New Waverly, Thorndale, Teague, Lexington and host FHS. Pictured are (L-R) Alejandro Rivera, Tyler Thomas, Mason Willard and Yolianna Castillo. Rivera and Thomas won the consolation bracket in the boys doubles division while Willard and Castillo placed third in the mixed doubles division with wins over teams from Bremond, Lexington and Cameron. Willard and Castillo’s only loss came to defending district champs from Academy, 6-3, 7-5. Lady Dog softball got their sixth consecutive win on Friday night, taking down Granger 12-0.
Over the weekend, Rockdale High School’s Golden Girls competed in San Antonio at Danceline USA’s National Dance/Drill Team Championships.
This past weekend was deja vu for Thorndale High School senior Hayden Kylberg, who won his second straight state powerlifting title at Abilene’s Taylor County Expo Center last weekend.
