Tiger football avenged last season’s loss to Lexington with a 35-14 home win Friday in large part to the duo of quarterback Blaydn Barcak and receiver Robert Owens, who linked up for three of the team’s five touchdowns.
In the 87th meeting between the Rockdale Tigers and Taylor Ducks, it was the Tigers that came out on top. It started out as a close game, with the Ducks responding to both of Rockdale’s first two touchdown’s, but RHS built a stable 28-14 lead at half time and held on for the remainder of the game to win, 44-27.
Thorndale remains undefeated after grabbing their second win of the 2021 season over Snook, Texas Football Magazine’s 20th-ranked team in Class 2A-II, 31-6.
Rockdale’s junior varsity football team couldn’t catch up to the Taylor Ducks, who scored two touchdowns in the first quarter and one in the fourth to beat the Blueand-Gold 20-0.
