On Friday afternoon, Rockdale’s Wendell “Chuck” Mitchell Jr. announced that he had signed a contract with Prishtina B.C. of Kosovo.

Youngest in the game: Milano grad to lead on gridiron

In July of 2018, Milano High School quarterback Kathen Funburg was getting ready for his senior season. Three years and two states later, he is now the youngest head football coach in the United States after accepting the job at Oklahoma’s Prue High School earlier this month.

On Saturday evening, Rockdale High School had their first ever alumni game at the Lady Tiger softball field with an opening ceremony prior to the game and a closing ceremony before an after party at The Ranch.

Kade Lillard takes a shot during Tuesday afternoon’s youth golf tournament at the Rockdale Country Club. Ten players were signed up with Jaxson Barcak beating Tyler Shaw in the ninth grade bracket. Mason Lillard beat Logan Akin in the eighth grade bracket and Beau Clark beat Kade in the sixth grade division. Other participants were Paisley Fisher, Zeb Skrhak, Brody Willard and Brice Becker. Akin, from Cameron, had the longest drive with a shot of 190 yards and Barcak got the closest to the pin. Reporter/Wynton Thomason
