Rockdale’s hard fought journey into the post-season came to a stop late Saturday afternoon in Giddings with a 5-0 loss to Brookshire-Royal after the Falcons had a 14-minute surge where they scored four unanswered goals midway through the first half.
Going into Friday night’s game with Rogers at Tiger Field, the Blue-and-Gold expected a talented opponent, especially since the Eagles run-ruled Florence and Lexington in their first two district games and were coming off a 6-2 win over Academy, a team that runruled Rockdale last Friday.
Earlier this month, former Rockdale athlete Ross Loth was named to the Academic Dean’s List at Fort Worth’s Texas Wesleyan University after obtaining a 4.0 grade-point average this semester.
After this weekend, Kyle King is one step closer to becoming a national champion in what was a career performance for the MHS grad.
