The new 4-H year will start Tuesday. Our 4-H leaders are gearing up by making sure all families are safe during COVID 19.
If the COVID-19-Pandemic year of 2020 is going to negatively impact Rockdale-area’s sales tax receipts, it’s going to have to be in the year’s final third.
All of Milam County’s school districts are now back in classes, both in-person and online. Milano ISD was the final one to get underway with a Thursday start. “It went very smoothly even with all the new procedures put in place. Great cooperation by students, parents and staff,” Supt. Robert Westbrook said. Above are Milano Elementary teachers who said “welcome back” to students before the first day with this photo posted online.
The start of the 2020-2021 school year was anything but ‘normal’ Thursday, due to COVID-19, but you couldn’t have told it from the usual coming-to-school traffic coming up Childress Street in front of Rockdale High School. By this Thursday all Milam County students will be back in classrooms or enrolled in online learning. (See story page 1A). Don’t worry about the ambulance in this photo. Rockdale’s ambulance base is on Childress.
