The water retaining pond at Rockdale Junior High is full after about five inches of rain over the past several days. It looks ready for swimming, fishing and water skiing after the much-need rain. There is a chance of rain, and lower than normal August temperatures, every day this week and into next week for the Rockdale area.

GRAND RE-OPENING

Perk Up Coffee House held their grand re-opening on Friday in the parking lot of Treat Yourself Boutique. Owner Heather Cruise was joined by Pat Watson with the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and the Rockdale High School cheerleaders for the ribbon cutting. The new mobile coffee house is located at 1703 W. Timmerman new manager at Post Oak Savannah GCD

Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District welcomed Kelli Timmerman as our Office Ma n a g e r / Bo ok ke ep er on Aug. 1. Kelli is a hard-working professional with 15 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping in various industries, including nine years with municipal water/wastewater departments. She was born and raised in Rockdale where she attended Rockdale High School, Blinn College and Temple College.

BAGS OF GOODIES—Rockdale Police Chief Jerry Meadors and AWARE Central Texas employee Stephanie Barker give away bags of school supplies on Saturday at the VFW Hall. AWARE Central Texas is a non-profit organization which helps people who have experienced violence and trauma by forming community partnerships to effect change.
