Milam County Commissioners voted 4-1 Thursday morning to end the county's Shelter-In-Place order, effective at 12:01 a.m.. Friday (May 8).

An estimated 70 vehicles—most containing more than one person—paraded around Renaissance Villa Saturday morning to support residents during the COVID-19 crisis. A large crowd of residents and staffers turned out to watch the parade which took several laps around the Dyer Street facility. Among the onlookers (right) was Maurice Koening of Taylor who had numerous relatives in the parade. Also see page 1A.
