FREE HOT DOGS—At Friday’s Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival everything was free for the kinds, including hot dogs and drinks, cotton candy, games, Easter basket decorating, face painting and all kinds of games. The event was a huge success and well attended. Sponsors of this fun day were the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, RISD ACE Tigers and the Girl Scouts. See more photos on page 7A.
There is a guy named Jim I’ve been following online who is Italian and makes very good Italian food on his website called Sip and Feast. I like Italian food but I don’t love it like a lot of people do.
Teacher Man is a 2005 memoir by Frank McCourt, ref lecting on his teaching experiences in New York high schools in the 1950s and 60s. One of its delightful chapters is entitled “The Excuse Note.” He knew that most excuse notes that came to him, allegedly from parents, were written instead by the boys and girls of McKee Vocational and Technical High School. Toward the end of a semester, Mr. McCourt typed a dozen of the excuse notes on a stencil and distributed them to the class.
