City of Rockdale Public Works employees began laying water pipes along US 79 on Thursday morning. The new lines will be in the city right of way rather than the state right away. Public Works Director Jerald Brunson said the work should take 10 to 14 work days if everything goes as planned. In addition to laying new pipe, the city will also remove some old pipes.
