Milam County’s ambulance service, or as one speaker at Monday’s commissioners court meeting called it “lack of service,” took center stage during a discussion of the existing contract with AMR.
Milam County commissioners set Sept. 13 as the date for public hearing on the upcoming fiscal year county budget and to hear reason for and against granting tax abatement to two solar projects in the county.

The Texas Book Festival announced the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library in Rockdale as a recipient of the 2021 Texas Library Grants. The library received a grant of $2,500. This year's Texas Book Festival recipient list included 53 libraries for a total of $125,000 to support Texas public libraries and their dedication towards literacy efforts.
