The American Rescue Plan Act provides a lot of fertile ground for more Milam County grant opportunities, and rest assured we will take advantage of them all.

There have been a couple of instances of a return to some sense or normalcy around my house lately.

(This editorial was written one year ago by then editor Mike Brown. Some people Mike couldn’t have known about a year ago are all of the volunteers who are helping the county vaccine operation run like a well oiled machine. And also what a hero to all of us Judge Steve Young has been by keeping us all up to date on the virus in Milam County and getting us the vaccines we need. But we can certainly add them now. After surviving a year of COVID-19, let his words serve as a reminder of who needs to be thanked for getting us through to where we are now. —K.W.C)
