Ofc. Catherine Parker became Sgt. Catherine Parker last week at a ceremony held at the Rockdale Police Department. And she is Rockdale PD’s first female sergeant, according to Police Chief Jerry Meadors.

Towards the end of last month, I had a chance to visit Mexico for the first time in my life. The plan was to hang out in Mexico City before lying on the beach for the rest of my trip in Oaxaca, near Puerto Escondido. I didn’t want to deal with the crowds of Cancun, but after a hectic spring, I still didn’t want to do much besides relax.
