ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILLS—The Milam County Sheriff’s Department, along with their partner agencies, will again have active shooter drills next week in Cameron on Monday and in Milano on Wednesday. “We are taking the initiative over the next three months to facilitate training opportunities for first responders responding to critical incidents in our schools,” said County Sheriff Mike Clore. $1,000 adult scholarships available from Rotary Club

Rockdale Rotary Club will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to adults wishing to further their education. Applicants must have graduated high school or received a GED prior to 2022.
Fire Chiefs’ Assoc. to hold benefit for Glenn

The Milam County Fire Chiefs’ Association will host a benefit for Ernie Glenn at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Glenn was diagnosed with spinal cancer last year and all proceeds will go toward medical expenses and treatments.
